THE XII GALICIAN TOURISM SHOW WAS HELD FROM 8TH TO 11TH JUNE IN THE VENUE OF THE INTERNATIONAL FAIR OF GALICIA ABANCA SEMANA VERDE.
Silleda, 13th June 2023.- The XII Galician Tourism Show, Turexpo Galicia, was held from 8th to 11th June in the 45th edition of Abanca Semana Verde of Galicia, receiving jointly 102.689 visitors.
In this fair, highlighted once again the Hosted Buyers Meeting Programme which once again became an effective commercial platform for the sector holding more than 2,200 business meetings. In them more than 140 companies could show their proposals to about thirty tour operators with presence in twelve countries, such as Germany, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Uruguay. These were, mostly traditional agencies or incoming agencies specialized in destination Spain and Portugal that work for issuers in other markets, looking for some of them proposals related to cultural heritage, Camino of Santiago, wine tourism and gastronomy or accessible tourism.
These operators conveyed to the organization the great interest in the proposals and destinations present at Turexpo Galicia and the fact that is a tourism fair framed in a multisectoral event, with parallel sectors such as the food, which is also very attractive to them. The companies participating in the Hosted Buyers Meeting Programme were very satisfied, indicating in their majority that business expectations are very good and manifesting some of them already closed big agreements during the fair.
In addition to the business meetings, the Hosted Buyers Meeting Programme had a fam trip post event. This fam trip began on Friday afternoon with a visit to the Pazo of Señoráns, located in Meis, and to the city of Pontevedra, to later stay in Mondariz-Spa. On Saturday they visited the Castle of Soutomaior, Pazo Baión (Vilanova de Arousa) and the town of Cambados, including its Pazo of Fefiñáns. On Sunday they visited the Cathedral of Santiago and finished off the trip discovering the historic old town of Compostela.
On the other hand, the fair celebrated its VI Turexpo Galicia Bloggers Meeting, attended by bloggers like A World to Travel, Engaliciamórate, Cristal de Viaje, Pasear Galicia, Loves Galicia, Galidrone, Marco Volador, Culito Inquieto, Galicia Escapadas, Nunca Sin Viaje and the youtuber Jerónimo Salgado.
Festur and its exhibition
Turexpo Galicia, which had the support of the Galician Tourism Agency, hosted simultaneously the Fair of Festivals of Tourist Interest, Festur, which reached its ninth edition. An appointment that showed 40 celebrations from the four Galician provinces. These, with international, national or Galician recognition, are held in 31 councils, which participated in the exhibition area in individually or groupally stands. In addition, some of them carried out different activities during the event, such as tastings and exhibitions.
The Turexpo exhibition area also showed a multitude of proposals from both Spanish and international destinations, with a special presence in this edition of the Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine (SATD) in a yielded stand, intended mainly for visitors to show their solidarity to the country. To do this, a panel was installed where visitors could sign to show them their support.
